The floors and beams are made from recycled hardwood ‘Trojes’ from the state of Michoacán, which is prominent in the blue tones of the kitchen’s ceiling. All of the doors in the home are made from heavy antique mesquite wood, also from Michoacán.

The house’s rooftop swimming pool has a glass bottom which serves as a skylight, casting a subtle teal hue throughout the home. This unique effect is due to the small, polished glass beads that possess an individual brilliance. Casa Karina’s artwork makes use of thick wood as a canvas. All the pieces are by Lola Picó - a local artist originally from Lleida, Spain.
